Such tumultuous times. And in the spirit of giveaways that seem to be sweeping the nation, we've got something free for you. No it's not a pile of cash (sorry) but rather an audio postcard of sorts from a summer's night in Oregon with our friends the Fleet Foxes & a lovely Bob Dylan tune. All we ask is you check the "I pledge to vote in the 2008 Election" button below. If you can spare it, we also encourage you to consider a donation to Feeding America.

VOTE!

Wilco has made a free song available to anyone who promises to vote. It's a version of Bob Dylan's "I Shall Be Released" recorded live along with the Fleet Foxes. You can get the download here. It will sound great on your iPod as you make your way to the polls Tuesday. From Wilco's website:

I don't have cable, but I'll be sure to check out the Comedy Central site for the video, maybe even post it here. Thanks for mentioning it.
Wilco playing the inauguration would be really great, but I don't want to put the cart before the horse! One more day...
Did you catch Wilco on The Colbert Report on Thursday's show? Jeff Tweedy even had a pre-performance interview where he mentioned this free download (of course, Colbert accused him of being a socialist for giving it away). And he told a funny story of asking Obama years ago if Wilco could play the inauguration, and Barack replying how that would be up to Hillary.
Oh, how things changed in a few scant years.
